Application

Solubility/Dilution
Desmodur® BL 3175 SN generally has good miscibility with the following solvents, but the storage stability of the prepared solution must be tested. Desmodur® BL 3175 SN can be diluted with solvents of ketones, esters, ether esters and aromatics to a solution with a solid content of 40% by weight. Dilute it to a 60% solid solution (by weight) with a high-boiling aromatic hydrocarbon solvent, such as a mixture of 100# and 150# solvent naphtha.
Aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents should not be used.
Compatibility
When given an equivalent ratio (NCO/OH=1.0), Desmodur® BL 3175 SN is generally compatible with Desmophen® 651, 670, 680, 690, RD 181, A 160, A 265, A 365, A 450 and A 565 and Desmophen T 1665 are miscible. It can also be used with various plasticizers, such as phosphoric acid, sulfonic acid, adipic acid and phthalates. However, the miscibility of the resulting mixture must be tested.
Features/Applications
Desmodur® BL 3175 SN can be used as curing agent in color retention and weather resistance one-component polyurethane coatings. Adding a catalyst, such as dibutyltin dilaurate (DBTL), can significantly reduce the baking temperature without affecting the storage stability. This product can be used in high-quality industrial decorative paints (electrical appliances, small components, can coatings, coil coatings, etc.) as well as primer surfacers and topcoats in automotive decorative paints. Desmodur® BL 3175 can also be used as an additive in traditional baking systems to improve the flexibility and adhesion of the paint film. When Desmodur® BL 3175 is mixed with Desmophen® 651, the possible baking cycle is:
No catalyst 160℃ 60 minutes
180°C 15 minutes
200°C 7 minutes
With catalyst 130℃ for 60 minutes
150°C 15 minutes
175°C 7 minutes
Depending on the co-reactants used and the baking time, the paint film may turn yellow when the temperature is above 160°C. When Desmodur® BL 3175 is used in coil coating systems, it can be fully crosslinked without the addition of catalyst DBTL at a maximum panel temperature of about 241°C and above. If adding 1% DBTL (calculated on the basis of resin solids), the same effect can be obtained at the highest plate temperature of about 224°C.

Solubility/Dilution
Desmodur® N 3600 can be used with esters, ketones and aromatic hydrocarbon solvents such as: ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, methoxypropyl acetate, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, cyclohexanone, toluene , xylene, 100# naphtha solvent and its mixture etc. for dilution. Generally, it has good miscibility with the above solvents. However, the storage stability of the prepared solution must be tested. Solvents of polyurethane grade (less than 0.05 % water, free of reactive groups such as hydroxyl or amino groups) should be used. Aliphatic hydrocarbons are not suitable as solvents.
After dilution of Desmodur® N 3600, the solid content should not be lower than 40%. Solutions with low binder content will appear turbid and precipitate after long-term storage.
Compatibility
Desmodur® N 3600 can generally be mixed with the following products. Namely: Desmodur® N 100, N 75, N 3200, N 3300, N 3400, N 3600 and Desmodur® Z 4470 type aliphatic polyisocyanates; Desmodur® L, HL and IL type aromatic polyisocyanates; Desmophen® 670 type polyisocyanates Ester polyols; Desmophen ® Type A polyacrylates. However, the miscibility of the prepared solution must be tested.
Desmodur® N 3600 is immiscible with branched polyester polyols such as Desmophen® 651 or polyether polyols such as Desmophen® 1380 BT.
Features/Applications
Desmodur® N 3600 is mainly used as a curing agent for lightfast two-component polyurethane coatings. The prepared coatings have strong chemical and weather resistance, excellent gloss retention and excellent mechanical properties. The most preferred co-reactants are polyacrylate or polyester polyols.
The main fields of application for self-drying and force-drying coating systems based on Desmodur® N 3600 are automotive OEM paints, automotive refinish paints, other transport paints, industrial paints and plastic paints.
Due to its low viscosity, it is especially suitable for the preparation of high-solid coatings, and can also be used as a curing agent for waterborne polyurethane coatings.
Save
Desmodur® N 3600 is sensitive to moisture and should therefore be stored in the sealed original container. When stored under proper conditions at room temperature, this product has a shelf life of at least 6 months.

Features/Applications
The wood lacquer made of it is particularly quick-drying at first and easy to sand. A full-bodied clear or base coat can be obtained in just a few coats.
Compatibility
Desmodur HL BA is compatible with many Desmophen polyesters and has only limited compatibility with hydroxyacrylates. In general, Desmodur HL BA is very compatible with standard Desmodur products.
Solubility/Dilution
Desmodur® HL BA generally has good compatibility with the following solvents. However, the storage stability of the prepared solutions must be tested. Desmodur HL BA can be diluted with ethyl acetate, butyl acetate and 1-methoxypropyl acetate-2. Aromatic solvents are not true solvents and have only limited compatibility as diluents. Solutions with low base material content will appear cloudy and precipitate after prolonged storage. Polyurethane grade solvents should be used (low water content
at 0.05%). These solvents should not contain reactive groups.

General Information: This product is sensitive to moisture. High temperature storage will result in increased viscosity and decreased NCO content.
Storage Time
